Job Description

Position Goal: The part-time incumbent will help to manage, maintain, and assist with system administration. Two (2) years technical knowledge and experience installing, configuring, and repairing computers, printers, and peripherals in a networked environment is part of the daily duties. Troubleshooting hardware/software/network issues and proven analytical and problem solving abilities are a must.

Starting Rate: $19/hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install/configure/troubleshoot software and install/repair/troubleshoot computer and network hardware and peripherals
  • Assist with malware removal
  • Maintain inventory and records of IT assets, peripherals, and software.
  • Periodic Maintenance on PC's (hardware as well as software)
  • Field incoming requests from end users via phone/email in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Must be available and responsive for after-hours On-call support
  • Assist with telecom equipment/troubleshooting
  • Reset passwords/unlock accounts/create accounts
  • Must be willing to travel as needed for onsite work (may require travel on small aircraft)
  • Must show aptitude and desire to learn new skills/knowledge on the job (quick learner)
  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required
  • Genuinely interested in the IT field that keeps up with current/emerging technology
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and inquiry skills
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and precisely both orally and in writing
  • Ability to be courteous, helpful, and patient
  • Attention to detail, reliable, and strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Adept at reading, writing and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to lift PC/Printers/Networking equipment
  • Must be able to work On-Call
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education – Associate's Degree or currently pursuing AA degree in IT or related field.

Licensure/Certification – COMPTIA, Microsoft, and other IT related certifications preferred.

Equipment to be used - General office equipment: computer, telephone, fax, scanner, printer, and copier

Special/Preferred Qualifications Must be able to multi-task, possess analytical and computer skills, proficient in MS Office, online, social media, and able to effectively communicate both written and oral. Preferred experience with Apple products Iphone/Mac, Citrix, Internet, network cabling, PC/laptop/peripheral repair (including label and laser printers).
