Job Description

We are seeking SAT/ACT Exam Proctors to help us welcome potential new students, as well as assist current students! You will mostly be working out of our main office in Tyson's Corner, located near the Spring Hill Metro Stop, but we are also looking for ambitious folks who are willing to help us proctor exams at schools in the area as well.

Hours: Saturdays from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Check student ID and confirmation ticket before testing

  • Ensure a secure testing environment by monitoring students as they take the exams

  • Distribute and collect exams and answer sheets

  • Report any difficulties or concerns that parents or students had during the exam

  • Work with second proctor to manage logistics of entry, exit and bathroom breaks

  • Organize completed exams into appropriate folders and filing system

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skillsets and Qualities:

To really excel in this job, the ideal candidate would be great at:

  • Following oral and written directions

  • Communicating effectively with students by giving clear, concise instructions

  • Keeping student and parent information confidential

  • Working and interacting with up to 25 students at once

  • Keeping accurate records for each student

  • Reliable, approachable, and punctual

  • Reliable transportation is an absolute must. If you use Metro/Bus routes, very little is considered excusable for a lateness. Please plan ahead: you can still be on time!

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, A.A. degree or higher strongly encouraged

  • Experience taking standardized tests is highly desirable

  • Ability to work independently and in a two person team

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Ability to problem solve and think critically in different situations
