Job Description

Position Summary:  Primarily responsible for assisting the Assistant Operations Manager with the warehouse and driving staff concerned with loading, routing and proper documentation of outbound freight to ensure that it safely reaches its destination in an efficient and timely manner while maintaining cost effectiveness and adhering to all federal, state and local regulations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

·         Effectively manage the outbound processing of freight.

·         Coordinate with Dispatch and Dock operations to ensure efficient and timely loading/unloading and processing of customer shipments.

·         Enforce all Company, FMCSR, DOT, TSA and OSHA policies, rules, regulations and laws as required.

·         Complete data entry in a timely and efficient manner according to established department policies and procedures.

·         Follow all customer SOPs

·         Communicate with customers/forwarders and within department or directly to supervisor regarding problems, damages, shortages or delays that arise with delivery or pickup of freight.

·         Motivate employees while maintaining a positive, results oriented workplace by striving to achieve productivity goals.

·         Prompt daily attendance at assigned work location.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·         High school diploma or possession of a high school equivalency diploma

·         1-2 years Customer service experience in a general freight transportation environment.

·         Time management skills

·         Strong customer orientation

·         Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

·         Strong team player

·         Commitment to company values

·         Geographic knowledge of service areas

·         Knowledge of DOT and FMCS Regulations

·         Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
