The Role

Salary £35,000 per annum

We’re looking for a highly motivated, dependable, open, and reliable individual with excellent presentation skills, verbal and written skills and a positive and proactive approach to tackling and solving problems. You will have good IT skills and be proficient with the suite of Microsoft office, particularly excel spreadsheets. We’re looking for someone who is committed and loyal to the organisation and it’s aims. You will need to be able to drive and be of smart appearance.

You will be responsible and accountable for the organisation and management of the Window Cleaning Team in the North of England, enabling the delivery of high standard service to which Mitie’s clients are accustomed to.

Job Description

To manage, guide and develop the North of England window cleaning team to maximise efficiencies, service standards and development possibilities

Responsible for ordering the supply of materials, hydraulic machinery, equipment and ensuring that window cleaning operatives comply with all Health & Safety legislation

You will operate consistently within Company policy and budgetary constraints

You will be responsible for meeting existing and new clients, quoting work and putting it into the company’s format

Working off your own initiative to bring in new business to the division

Applying and processing permits to gain access to some of our client buildings we clean

Track and monitor the fleet. Monitoring hours worked, keeping overtime within budgets and inputting wages onto CATS on a weekly basis

Responsible for the scheduling of work and the duties expected from your team with the use of our Servicetrac planning system

Carry out regular meetings and deliver Toolbox Talks

Ensure that all company Health and Safety policies are adhered to by you and your team, including risk assessments, COSHH, PPE etc.  Undertake site safety inspections and audits on service delivery and cleaning standards, be proactive to remove all non-compliances and non-conformities

Mitie pride themselves on their duty of care to their employees and the public.  It is critical that this requirement is delivered into the day to day running of the business

Oversee the operations of multiple sites of varying business types

Manage subcontractors and suppliers when required

Company car, laptop and phone provided




Ability to interact effectively at all levels, with clients and staff and be able to represent Mitie in a competent and professional manner.

Ability to assess capabilities and motivate staff to deliver the quality of work to meet and where possible to exceed the clients’ expectations

A quality driven manager of people, systems, and service whose leadership and experience ensure the services are provided to the highest standard

Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills

Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability

Great attention to detail

Good communication and negotiation skills

The ability to work well within a team and to work off on initiative is essential

IT literate, and have a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word etc

In depth knowledge of industry

Full UK driving licence

Subject to security vetting

Accreditations of Health and Safety and management.
