Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time
Shift Pattern: Saturday - Sunday, 8am - 2pm (Overtime available)
Salary: £9.50 per hour
In your new role as a Swithboard Operator, you will answers calls within agreed number of rings, raise tasks, log information received on to the helpdesk database and assign an employee within the appropriate service level timescales. You will understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, and take a proactive approach to customer liaison and ensure concerns are dealt with or relayed to line management promptly. You will deal with emergency situations and therefore respond quickly and have the ability to follow procedures in an efficient and accurate manner, and implement major Incident and emergency protocols when required. You have responsibility for monitoring of alarms and dealing with emergencies and ensuring colleagues are well informed to ensure smooth handover at shift change.

The ideal candidate will undertake personal and technical development to maintain the competency requirements of the post, and ideally have similar experience, and extensive knowledge of the hospital site and divisional structures. You will have a strong standard of both literacy and numeracy skills, and possess an intermediate knowledge level of all Microsoft office packages, being fully competent in the use of PCs and other types of technology, such as smartphones and radios. You will have developed excellent written, verbal communication and negotiation skills to support in their role and be fully capable of understanding and maintaining the confidentiality across the site and respecting the needs of all stakeholders.
You will work well under pressure to meet challenging deadlines, and have the ability to effectively plan and manage own workloads, but understand when to ask for support when needed. You will demonstrate a positive 'can do' attitude and can flex their style to meet the needs of the business and represent Mitie and the client at all times in a professional, courteous and confident manner.
