Job Description

Mitie is seeing tremendous growth in our sustainable facilities and carbon management offerings. We want to accelerate bringing these offers to our top customers. We believe the next decade will be critical in our efforts towards addressing the climate emergency and our customers will address this with renewed vigour after this COVID crisis is past us.   The Capex Projects Business Development Director will be part of the Plan Zero senior leadership team working closely with our Client Development Directors, our client base and our strategic account teams to develop and close capital project opportunities delivered by the wider Mitie Projects capabilities and our supply chain which focus on carbon and energy reduction so helping both our clients and Mitie achieve our plan zero carbon reduction objectives.  We are looking for an experienced business development leader. Main Duties

  • Identify market opportunities and deliver won business
  • Analyse the market and the competitive positioning of both negotiated works and tenders
  • Work effectively with Business Unit sales and account management leads including pipeline creation & reporting to meet business requirements
  • Develop necessary commercial models & structures
  • Ensure that negotiated proposals and tenders are technically and economically viable
  • Ensure that a robust sales development and approval review process is followed
  • Drive appropriate sales and contract negotiations

Experience

  • Ability to lead senior business development professionals
  • Track record for selling multi-million pound complex carbon & energy focussed engineering projects
  • Knowledge of financing models that cover energy performance contracting (EPC), asset lifecycle and total cost oF ownership
  • Make Board Level/C Suite Presentations
  • Craft and close large deals
  • Build and motivate a team

Qualifications

  • Ideally experience working as a sales / business development director for capex projects in an energy management & carbon management businesses
  • Strong experience in developing, selling and closing deals with customers with a robust record of successfully delivered services and projects evidenced by continued repeat business
  • Commercially experienced working within corporate governance and sign off environments
  • Team player, able to work in a matrix environment
  • Use to taking accountability
  • Entrepreneurial in a corporate environment
