Job Description

As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk you’ll be a key part of making sure materials and products are more efficient through our facility. You’ll help receive parts and supplies, prepare orders for shipping, and support our team so we can deliver high-quality electrical products to our customers on time. 

 

Accountabilities: 

  • Receive deliveries and check them to make sure everything is correct  
  • Pack and ship completed orders to customers  
  • Move materials to the right departments using a forklift 
  • Help track inventory by doing simple cycle counts  
  • Keep records up to date in our computer system 
  • Communicate with other teams to help keep work moving smoothly  
  • Support a clean, safe, and organized workspace  
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required knowledge/Experience:  

  • 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or a related area 
  • Forklift certification is a plus, but not required (we can help you get certified)  
  • Basic computer skills (we’ll show you how to use our systems)  
  • Comfortable with lifting up to 50 lbs and doing hands-on work  
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to learn  

Education:  

  • High School Diploma or GED, Required.  

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Must be able to use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to include, but not limited to eye/ear/hand/feet protection.
  • Physical exertion may vary. May be required to regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, frequently stand or walk around the work area, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Work responsibilities may involve manipulating small parts, using hand tools and repetitive motions. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and stay alert to potential hazards on the shop floor.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
  • Manufacturing facilities can be loud and have bright lights. Temperatures subject to seasonal weather conditions (hot in summer and cold in winter months).
  • Availability and ability to travel, as needed, between MCG manufacturing facilities and/or client sites. Some travel will require overnight stays.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
