Job Description
The Press Brake Operator will interpret technical drawings, select appropriate tooling, set up the press brake, make any required adjustments to make accurate bends, and operate it safely and efficiently to produce high-quality parts to required specifications. The Operator will also perform routine maintenance on the machine. This role requires strong attention to detail, a comprehensive understanding of metal forming principles, and an unwavering commitment to safety and quality standards.
Schedules: Monday to Friday & Monday to Thursday 4x10
Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine correct specifications and tolerances.
- Select, install, and adjust appropriate punches, dies, and other tooling based on material type, thickness, and bend requirements.
- Set up and operate the press brake machinery, ensuring accurate machine settings and adjustments.
- Perform test bends and make necessary adjustments to achieve specified dimensions and angles.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, protractors) to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance on the press brake, including lubrication, minor repairs and cleaning.
- Troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions and report more complex issues to maintenance personnel.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Accurately complete production records and reports.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production deadlines.
- May be required to train or assist less experienced operators.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Press Brake Operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating Accurpress and/or equivalent manual press brake machinery
- Experience with specific press brake control systems (e.g., Accurpress) highly desirable.
- Forklift certification is desirable.
- Vocational training or certification in metal fabrication or a related field is desirable.
Required Skill/Abilities:
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments.
- Solid understanding of metal forming principles, material properties, and tooling selection.
- Ability to perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
- This is a FLSA non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis. Overtime may be required based on production demands, including extended shifts, weekends, or holidays.
- This role is based on the production floor. The position requires standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and adherence to all safety and compliance standards.
- Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
- Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
- Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
