Job Description

We are looking for a Manual QA Tester to join our team.

This role is part of the Quality Control (QC) workstream within the Digital Workplace-Solutions & Control-Release, Standards & Risk Management sub-chapter. The junior-level QA Tester plays a key role in ensuring the quality of hardware and software products by creating and executing test plans, identifying, and reporting issues, and collaborating with key stakeholders to resolve them.  We ensure that end-user impacting changes and projects are properly vetted and verified before being released into production and that all parties are unified and standardized to manage risk, and continuously strive for improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead QA Testing Requirement and Triage meetings.
  • Review and analyze product specifications and requirements.
  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Perform manual testing on software and hardware products.
  • Use various tools and equipment for hardware functionality and compatibility testing.
  • Identify, document, and report bugs, errors, and defects and issues.
  • Evaluate test results and generate test reports.
  • Report the test results and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the product life cycle.
  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics.
  • Evaluate the product for compliance with the requirements.
  • Create benchmarks for evaluating product quality.
  • Define and measure success metrics using Smartsheets.
  • Review product or service changes for other end-user-impacting teams – outside of DW - to avoid unnecessary overlap.
  • Partner with the Release Strategy workstream to track and report issues that can delay deployment.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of proven experience as a manual QA tester for software and hardware products.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Be familiar with the project and product life cycle.
  • Knowledge of various hardware (PC, Laptop, Chromebook, iPhone/iPad) and operating systems such as Windows, MacOS, iOS.
  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces and protocols, such as USB, HDMI, Ethernet, etc.
  • Attention to detail and quality orientation.
  • Strong communication and teamwork player skills.
  • Ability to clearly describe technical terms for different audiences, establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Linux and ChromeOS.
  • Experience in automation testing.
