Job Description
Oaks Auckland Hotel are looking for a skilled and reliable Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team on a (full-time basis.
This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in preparing and cooking meals to the highest standard, following recipes and maintaining consistency.
- Collaborate with and support fellow kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Take pride in plating and presenting beautifully crafted dishes, ensuring they are served to brand standards.
- Assist the Chef in Charge with preparing back-of-house rosters.
- Oversee stock control and ensure the safe and proper storage of food and kitchen supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas, including equipment and storage.
- Contribute to the development of new menu items in partnership with the Head Chef.
Shift Details (subject to change):
- 30 hours per week
- Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
- Shifts include breakfast, lunch, and dinner services
- Roster between 5.00am and 10.00pm
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for cooking.
- Flexibility to work across all service periods as per the roster: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
