Job Description
Minor Hotels Australasia is looking for an experienced and commercially minded General Manager - Mackay & Isaac Region to oversee a portfolio of properties across the Mackay & Isaac Region, including Oaks Mackay Rivermarque Hotel, Oaks Mackay Carlyle Suites, Oaks Moranbah Suites & Oaks Middlemount Suites.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations, financial performance and guest experience across multiple properties. Operating within a strata title environment, you will work closely with Body Corporate Committees, owners and on-site teams to ensure each property delivers strong commercial results, operational excellence and exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and financial performance of multiple properties within the region
- Lead, coach and support property leadership teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Drive revenue performance while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
- Build and maintain positive relationships with Body Corporate Committees, owners and key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, legislative requirements, health and safety, and sustainability initiatives
- Monitor multi property performances and implement initiatives with the leaders to achieve business objectives
- Drive a positive team culture focused on service excellence and continuous improvement
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a General Manager within a hotel, resort or serviced apartments environment.
- Experience managing multiple properties or working within a multi-site environment is highly regarded
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, with a proven ability to manage budgets, forecasting and driving profitability
- Experience working within a strata title environment and liaising with Body Corporate Committees and owners
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting and driving profitability
- Demonstrated ability to coach, develop and lead high-performing teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple properties
