Job Description
Elysia Wellness Retreat is seeking an experienced and inspiring General Manager to lead one of Australia's premier wellness destinations.
Located in the heart of the Hunter Valley, Elysia combines premium accommodation, award-winning spa experiences, wellness programs and exceptional hospitality to create memorable guest experiences.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded hospitality leader to drive the strategic direction, financial performance and day-to-day operations of the Retreat while leading a passionate team committed to service excellence.
About the Role
Reporting to the Cluster General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the Retreat, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong commercial outcomes and a positive, high-performing culture.
You will provide strategic leadership across Spa & Wellness, Hotel Operations, Food & Beverage and commercial activities, while building strong relationships with owners, stakeholders and the wider Minor Hotels network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall financial performance of the Retreat, including revenue, profitability, budgeting and forecasting.
- Drive operational excellence across Spa & Wellness, accommodation, Food & Beverage and hotel operations.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain the highest service and presentation standards.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing leadership team and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Identify commercial opportunities to grow revenue through wellness experiences, retail, packages and partnerships.
- Build strong relationships with owners, stakeholders and the local community.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, legislative requirements and Work Health & Safety standards.
Qualifications
You will be an experienced hotel or resort leader with a passion for luxury hospitality, wellness and people leadership.
You will bring:
- Previous experience as a General Manager or senior operational leader within a premium hotel, resort or wellness environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and delivering financial results.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- A proven ability to deliver outstanding guest experiences and develop high-performing teams.
- A passion for creating memorable experiences and driving continuous improvement.
