Job Description

As the second in command of the Engineering department, this role is responsible for ensuring that all the engineering and maintenance activities of the resort and conducted to the highest professional standards at all times, with guest comfort and safety being the highest priority.

  • To plan and manage all preventative maintenance work, new projects, extensions, and renovations.
  • To comply with all statutory and legal requirements for fire, health and safety licensing and provide all necessary safety equipment required for work to be carried out efficiently and safely.
  • To continually monitor the responsible use of energy in the hotel, and implement measures resulting in energy cost savings.
  • To manage the department, in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
  • Ensure that all maintenance requests are prioritised and are dealt with in an efficient manner, by technically proficient and guest-friendly technicians
  • He/she ideally should be certified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must be familiar with the operations and priorities of all other hotel operating departments.
  • Advise other colleagues on Health & Safety rules and processes.

Qualifications

  • At least Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • At least 3 - 5 year experience in Engineering Department Management 
  • Strong result oriented, people management, and leadership skills
  • Strong in English, communication skill, and computer literate 
  • Strong in analytical, problem solving skills, and execution of work
