Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Spa Therapist to join our team at Anantara Kafue River tented Camp. As a Spa Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional wellness experiences to our guests, contributing to their relaxation and rejuvenation.

  • Greet guests warmly and create a positive first impression by addressing them by name
  • Perform high-quality spa services according to company standards and treatment protocols
  • Ensure all spa equipment is in good working order and maintain a clean, hygienic environment
  • Educate guests about spa services, treatments, and their benefits
  • Customise treatments to meet individual guest needs and preferences
  • Participate in ongoing training programmes to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Maintain accurate records of treatments and guest preferences
  • Assist with spa events and demonstrations as required
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless spa operations
  • Adapt to changes in schedules or procedures with a positive attitude
  • Conduct thorough consultations with guests to understand their wellness goals and any health concerns
  • Recommend appropriate products for at-home care to extend the benefits of spa treatments
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of spa supplies and products
  • Implement and follow safety protocols, including proper sanitation and sterilisation procedures
  • Contribute to the development of new spa treatments and packages to enhance the guest experience
  • Provide pre- and post-treatment advice to guests, ensuring they understand how to maximise the benefits of their spa experience
  • Assist in creating a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere throughout the spa facility
  • Participate in cross-selling and upselling of spa services and products to increase revenue
  • Stay informed about industry trends and incorporate new techniques or treatments when appropriate
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality regarding guest information and experiences

 

Qualifications

  • Recognised certification or diploma in Spa Therapy, Beauty Therapy, Massage Therapy, or Holistic Wellness from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a luxury spa, resort, lodge, or high‑end wellness environment.
  • Proficiency in a range of treatments, including deep‑tissue massage, aromatherapy, facials, body wraps/scrubs, and relaxation therapies.
  • Strong understanding of wellness principles, body anatomy, hygiene protocols, and guest‑care standards.
  • Exceptional guest service skills, with the ability to personalise treatments and create a calming, memorable spa experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a warm and professional demeanour.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain spa spaces, and manage treatment schedules efficiently.
  • Passion for holistic wellness, mindfulness, and delivering high‑quality, detail‑oriented service.
  • Flexibility to live and work in a remote safari environment, with a commitment to teamwork and a positive attitude.
  • First aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with local wellness practices or traditions is a plus.
