Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Housekeeping Coordinator to join our team in Gaborone, Botswana. As a Housekeeping Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's housekeeping and laundry services, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
- Manage and coordinate all guest and employee calls to the Housekeeping and Laundry/Valet offices
- Ensure prompt and professional handling of guest requests, keeping the Guest Service Center informed of progress
- Interact professionally with the Guest Service Center to resolve guest issues
- Coordinate with colleagues across departments to address guest concerns efficiently
- Handle VIP and Special Service requests with utmost care and attention
- Maintain accurate records of lost and found items and oversee related processes
- Support shift management by entering relevant updates, rosters, and overtime information into the system
- Report sickness and absences to the People & Culture department immediately
- Implement and maintain housekeeping best practices and standards
- Oversee inventory management of cleaning supplies and linens
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met
- Train and mentor housekeeping staff to maintain high-performance levels
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or similar environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Leadership experience and team management skills
- Knowledge of housekeeping best practices and industry standards
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management is a plus
