Overall Purpose

To lead and drive all sales, marketing and commercial activity for the two properties- Avani+ Barbarons Seychelles & Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas and ensuring alignment with the brand positioning, achieving revenue, occupancy, profit and market share targets, enhancing brand awareness, developing key partnerships, and leading a high-performing sales & marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Develop, in collaboration with the GM and the regional commercial team, the annual sales & marketing strategy and business plan for both resorts, with clear objectives.
  • Set, monitor and drive targets for occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), revenue per available room (RevPAR), group and bookings, events, incentives, weddings, etc.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor performance, guest feedback, source-markets and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Management team to ensure pricing, inventory and distribution strategies are aligned with sales & marketing efforts.
  • Manage the combined sales & marketing budget.
  • Regularly report to senior management on commercial performance, market insights, and action plans.

Sales Leadership

  • Lead and manage all sales functions across both resorts.
  • Establish strong relationships with key clients, travel trade partners, tour operators, incentive houses, wedding planners, luxury travel advisors, source-markets.
  • Represent the resorts at key trade shows, road-shows, industry events and networking opportunities.
  • Drive business development into new markets/segments, identify opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure sales team (direct reports) have clear targets, are motivated, trained, coached and held accountable.
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure sales opportunities are converted and guest experience supports repeat business and positive reviews.

Marketing, Branding & Communications

  • Develop and oversee the marketing plan for the cluster: digital marketing (social media, website, e-mail campaigns), PR, media relations, advertising, promotions, brand collaborations, partnerships.
  • Ensure consistent brand identity and luxury positioning of the two resorts in all materials and campaigns.
  • Leverage global marketing resources, while tailoring messaging locally for the Seychelles market and source-markets.
  • Monitor performance of marketing campaigns (analytics, ROI, leads, conversion) and adjust strategy as required.
  • Oversee marketing collateral development (print, digital, video) and ensure timely delivery.
  • Manage public relations and media activity: press trips, influencer relations, luxury travel media.
  • Develop partnerships and collaborations with luxury brands, lifestyle influencers, destination-marketing organisations and local tourism authorities.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build, lead and develop the cluster sales & marketing team: recruit, train, mentor, set KPIs, performance reviews, succession planning.
  • Foster a high-performance culture, encourage innovation, provide constructive feedback, share best practices across both properties.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest journey and maximise commercial opportunities.
  • Work with the Cluster General Manager to align commercial strategy with operational execution and guest satisfaction.

Guest & Market Focus

  • Maintain a guest-centric mindset: ensure that sales & marketing initiatives support the guest experience and reinforce the positioning of both properties.
  • Monitor guest feedback, reviews and reputation management; ensure insights are translated into action.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management or related field. Master’s or MBA preferred.
  • Extensive luxury hospitality experience (ideally 5+ years) in sales & marketing leadership in resort/luxury hotel environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving commercial results
  • Strong understanding of multi-property (cluster) management, and of resort segments:
  • Skilled in digital marketing, brand management, analytics, trend-forecasting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, team-building skills.
  • High level of commercial acumen, ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Experience working with cross-cultural teams, multiple stakeholders
  • Flexibility to travel international for trade shows, market visits, partner meetings.
