Job Description

As the General Manager, you’ll lead Oaks Darwin Elan Hotel with vision and energy, driving profitability, operational excellence, and unforgettable guest experiences. You’ll inspire a high-performing team, foster strong stakeholder relationships, and ensure the hotel thrives as a premier destination.

  • Drive strategic plans to maximise profitability and achieve EBITDA targets.
  • Oversee daily operations, financial performance, and property presentation, including Food & Beverage.
  • Manage budgets, cost control, and workforce planning for operational efficiency.
  • Implement improvements across front office, housekeeping, and maintenance.
  • Lead and develop a customer-focussed team aligned with Oaks Hotels & Resorts’ values.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service, addressing feedback promptly and monitoring reviews.
  • Build strong relationships with Body Corporate, Owners, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, legislation, and health and safety standards.
  • Maintain high standards of property cleanliness and presentation.

Qualifications

We’re seeking candidates with:

  • 5+ years of senior hotel/hospitality management experience, focussing on operations and profitability.
  • Proven skills in budgeting, cost control, and revenue maximisation.
  • Strong leadership to recruit, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication to engage guests, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in guest relations and delivering high customer service standards.
  • Proficiency in hotel management systems (e.g., CMS, PMS) and P&L analysis.
  • Knowledge of Body Corporate and strata management processes.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills for multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety compliance.
  • Tertiary qualification in Hospitality or Business Management (preferred, not essential).
  • Current RSA and relevant certifications (preferred).
  • Flexible availability for varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
