Job Description
Prepare mis-en-place for all hotel menus, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, kiddies' and room service. Assist Chef De Partie with basic food preparation tasks.
Manage ingredient storage, including offloading, cleaning, and practising FIFO in fridges, freezers, and dry store.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all working areas, including assisting in the scullery when needed.
Demonstrate artistic food presentation skills and proficiency in various knife techniques.
Adhere to food safety and protection standards, including proper food handling, storage, and personal hygiene practices.
Qualifications
- Professional Cookery Certificate or equivalent, with at least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and basic cooking techniques
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with flexibility to work various shifts
- Physical stamina and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Passion for food and willingness to learn new culinary techniques
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations, including equipment use and inventory management
