Job Description

 

  • Prepare mis-en-place for all hotel menus, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, kiddies' and room service. Assist Chef De Partie with basic food preparation tasks.

  • Manage ingredient storage, including offloading, cleaning, and practising FIFO in fridges, freezers, and dry store.

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all working areas, including assisting in the scullery when needed.

  • Demonstrate artistic food presentation skills and proficiency in various knife techniques.

  • Adhere to food safety and protection standards, including proper food handling, storage, and personal hygiene practices.

 

Qualifications

  • Professional Cookery Certificate or equivalent, with at least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and basic cooking techniques
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with flexibility to work various shifts
  • Physical stamina and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for food and willingness to learn new culinary techniques
  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations, including equipment use and inventory management
