Job Description

As Area Director of Revenue Management, Minor Hotels Maldives you will be responsible to maximize revenue, market share and profit for multiple hotels, across multiple brands through the strategic coordination of revenue management processes and procedures. This role will drive the continued development and growth of customer service standards, revenue and profits from multiple hotels and brands and to deliver Minor’s Core Value relating to result, customer, people, innovative and partnership.

You will primarily act in a Revenue Management capacity for your base hotel whilst having involvement and oversight in Revenue Management for all Minor Hotels in the Maldives to the extent that collaboration will give optimal business outcomes across the Maldives.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Minor Hotels  employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

  • To partner closely with key stakeholders to drive Total Hotel Profit Optimisation (THPO) across F&B, Spa, Activities, and other revenues.  Explicitly quantify and weigh key drivers of contribution margin when formulating, explaining, and executing strategies across the Resort.
  • To discuss regularly with Commercial and Operational Leaders of F&B, Spa, Activities, and other revenues to support strategies and analyses of products, marketing, pricing, and packaging.  Activities include, but are not limited to, competitive analysis, modelling, menu engineering and promotional activity.
  • To collaborate with stakeholders from all hotels to ensure optimal business outcomes for all hotels in the Maldives.
  • To participate in all weekly revenue, group and other meetings, as appropriate, to ensure optimal business outcomes for all Maldives hotels.
  • To support all hotels as needed in the planning and execution of daily pricing and availability strategies, as required.
  • Be responsible, with the support of the other Revenue Directors for all recruitment & selection into the shared Revenue support functions.
  • Be responsible for all recruitment & selection of the revenue support functions and oversee the Minor Maldives CRO department.
  • To prepare weekly accurate 3 months forecast for hotel rooms revenue by Market Segment/Day.
  • To prepare monthly accurate 12 months forecast for hotel rooms revenue by Market Segment.
  • To actively participate in the production of the hotel’s annual budget and to assist in the creation, update and evaluation of the hotel Sales and Marketing plan.
  • To set and effectively communicate the hotels pricing strategy by market segment with reference to market intelligence, buying patterns and pre-determined seasonality.
  • To prepare and chair a weekly Revenue Meeting. Collate and distribute meeting minutes of notes on forecast and strategy changes, including weekly action plan.
  • To ensure compliance with brands, regional and owning company Processes and Procedures pertaining to Revenue Management.
  • To continuously manipulate availability & rates while ensuring parity across all distribution channels.  This allows maximum flexibility to capture all market buying patterns while optimizing REVPAR.
  • To introduce incremental revenue generators to maximize overall hotels revenue.
  • To provide the sales team with performance analysis of top producing accounts, thus providing required analysis to support pricing and re-contracting.
  • Set monthly targets of upselling revenue for front office and reservations department.
  • Monitor competitor availability and pricing on a daily basis, using all available tools such as Industry Reports, Internet, Ring Around, Dummy Bookings etc, and subsequently analyze & report actual performance versus competitive set.
  • Ensure available technology (PMS & RMS) is fully utilized and understood according to property specific business mix and requirements.
  • Ensure optimal use, and measure performance on all distribution channels, to ensure that fair market share is achieved if not surpassed, e.g. iHotelier, GDS, Anantara.com, Tour Operators, Small Luxury Hotels, Regional and Corporate Sales Offices.
  • Assist the Sales & Marketing Team in devising marketing campaigns, to ensure that the Hotel reaches the right people, at the right time, in the right place.
  • Maintaining high standards of data quality through system maintenance.
  • Responsible to drive maximum revenues through preferred brand booking channels by applying relevant pricing and inventory management.
  • Ensure weekly/monthly reporting to the regional/corporate office is adhered to in a timely manner.
  • Implement a database of historical data and supervise its continuous daily capture, and subsequently produce a calendar of events required for revenue and pricing decisions.
  • Carry out analysis of Booking Patterns & Market Trends and ensure that these are recorded to facilitate future decisions
  • Liaise with Corporate Marketing to ensure all promotion / programmes are fully understood and right for the business.
  • Understand the dynamics of the Global, National, Regional & Local Political and Economic Market, local Competitors and all demand generators for the destination.
  • Ensure an effective Training & Development Calendar is in place & adhered to, that all Team members have a Personal Development Plan and clearly defined objectives, and that a Succession Plan exists within the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in hotel revenue management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record in multi-property revenue management, preferably in luxury or upscale resorts
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in revenue management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Understanding of digital marketing, including SEO, PPC, and social media strategies (TripAdvisor, HolidayCheck, Twitter, Facebook)
  • Experience with OTAs, channel management, and reservation systems
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Project management skills, including the ability to manage details through to completion and meet deadlines

 

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of the Maldives hospitality market and global tourism trends
  • Experience with web analytics and performance data analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in using Content Management Systems
