Job Description

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done.  Anantara team members always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues.  

Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Offer consistently professional, friendly, warm and engaging service
  • Ensure guests are greeted appropriately upon arrival in a warm manner
  • Open car doors for arriving and departing guests and escort them to the lobby
  • Forward all guest complaints or problems to the manager on duty
  • Ensure that an effective handover is made between duty shifts
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of the hotel’s policies and procedures and service standards and have full knowledge of the hotel facilities and happenings at all times
  • Establish, promote and maintain good public relation while meeting or exceeding guest expectations.



  • A high school diploma or equivalent may be required.

  • Previous experience as a doorman or in a similar customer service role is often preferred.

  • Knowledge of security procedures and protocols is beneficial.

  • Excellent communication skills, as the doorman is often the first point of contact for guests and residents.
  • Ability to speak English fluently is typically required. Knowledge of additional languages, especially Arabic, can be an advantage.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Good physical health and stamina, as the role may involve standing for long periods and some manual tasks.
  • Ability to work well with other staff members, including concierge, security personnel, and management
  • Familiarity with the local area, including knowledge of nearby attractions, services, and emergency facilities.
