Job Description

You will participate in all sales activities and work in line with the sales and marketing plan for the various market segments in order to exceed hotel revenue and targets. The scope of responsibility includes: promoting the hotel brand, contracting new business and maximizing revenue for the hotel. You are also in charge of establishing outstanding businesses relationships within local, domestic and international markets monitoring competitor activities and market intelligence attending travel functions and sales road shows and organizing sales trips to promote sales for the hotel. We will provide training that will equip you to be a confident Sales Manager who stands out in the market by achieving exceptional results. You will report directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing who will provide coaching and support to enable you to achieve what you are driving for.

Detailed  functions-

 

  • Responsible for managing the Special Corporate segment of the Hotel (i.e. RFP Accounts)
  • To identify, solicit & prospect new business opportunities with potential revenue for all areas of the Hotel i.e. Guestrooms (Transient & Groups), catering events, FnB outlets, etc)
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new corporate customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, sales trips, roadshows, site inspections etc.
  • To meet and exceed individual and team targets
  • To generate a YOY ADR increase (stipulated %) for RFP accounts
  • To foster a positive attitude among the team and be a role model by example.
  • To conduct 25 sales activities i.e. sales calls, entertainment & site inspections per week.
  • To identify and develop new potential accounts through organizing sales activities i.e. phone solicitation, physical sales calls, site inspections, trade shows, sales blitz, e-mail, research via newspaper, online resources and telemarketing exercise etc. (to prospect at least 2 new accounts per week)
  • To submit sales call reports on a weekly basis
  • Develop sales plans to generate business from identified markets/accounts.
  • Determine corporate account needs and initiate sales activities of each assigned market/account to enable future bookings.
  • Assist with special projects/events that may be assigned.
  • Identify New Accounts and develop Action Plans through Hotelligence reports, leads from newspapers, and any prior knowledge of Competitor’s accounts, etc.
  • Promote Global Hotel Alliance benefits (Transient and Events) and ongoing promotions to the customer to solicit and secure increased future business.
  • Continuously communicate the benefits and ongoing promotions of the hotel to the customer.
  • Management and growth of corporate accounts by tracking individual transient, group, and catering production goals.
  • Negotiate transient rates for assigned accounts.
  • Gather market intelligence: new product ideas, competition activities, customer trends and performance.
  • Support Groups and Catering conversion through obtaining leads and providing information to close the business.
  • Ensure prompt follow-up on incoming phone calls, site inspections, and proposals/inquiries.  Accuracy in booking, commitments to customers on all sales/operational documents and adhering to the standards set by the department in the execution and filing of all said documents.
  • To manage and develop Interdepartmental relations while not compromising customer satisfaction, revenue, profitability or team member morale of department / Hotel.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Sales and Marketing or related field
• Pro-active, self-motivated, loves challenges
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a 5-star Hotel
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to achieve sales targets and work in a highly pressurized environment
• Passion to lead and a desire to succeed
