Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced, hands-on Housekeeping Manager to join our friendly and supportive team at AVANI Auckland Metropolis Residences. This role will be responsible for the overall operation and direction of the housekeeping department at our AVANI Auckland Metropolis Residences.

Salary range: $58,000 - $63,000 (excluding KiwiSaver)

Expected hours: 40 per week

Location: 40 Kitchener Street, Auckland 1010, New Zealand

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is evident throughout the property especially in Guest Rooms. 
  • Oversee daily on the job training for all housekeeping staff as per the company standards. 
  • Ensuring housekeeping staff are well groomed and presented according to Housekeepers Grooming standards.
  • Answering guest questions and monitoring the delivery of quality guest service.
  • Controlling and purchasing within budget, all operating supplies, replacements, consumables and maintaining par levels including processing and coordinating payments/accounts for such purchases.
  • Maintaining accurate records, i.e. financial, maintenance; inventory (all aspects pertaining to the Housekeeping Department).
  • Implementing a transparent communication process with all key personnel.
  • Ensuring a productive and professional relationship with Housekeeper’s staff members, Housekeeper’s clients and all contractor personal.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in a similar or Supervisor role.
  • Strong knowledge of Hotel and Housekeeping operations.
  • Experience in the management and motivation of team members.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent personal presentation.
  • A positive, friendly, can-do attitude
  • Availability to work day shift on a rotating roster (including weekends)
