Job Description

In this role, you will be based at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort, an iconic property in the Hunter Valley which includes a golf & country club, multiple restaurants, bars, pool, tennis courts, function centres and Wellness Retreat (Elysia). Having won multiple industry awards, this property is regarded as one of NSW's golf, wedding, corporate functions and event destinations of choice.

As a Commis Chef you will assist with the kitchen operations, servicing the Restaurant, Conferences and Events, and Room Service facilities at the Hotel. You will report to the Executive Chef who oversees kitchen operations. This is a full-time position.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Hold relevant Certificate III cookery qualifications and previous experience in a similar role.
  • Have knowledge about Modern Australian Cuisine
  • Have knowledge and understanding of HACCP and OH&S
  • Be flexible to work a range of different shifts, including weekends.
  • Be able to work under pressure within a dynamic team environment.
  • Be able to coach and motivate less experienced members of the kitchen team.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
