Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced, self-motivated and reliable Facilities Manager to join the team at Oaks Melbourne on Collins Suites. 

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Implement and drive the preventative maintenance program.
  • Perform the role in a hands-on manner by undertaking any repairs and maintenance as required.
  • Supervision of (but not limited to) electrical, mechanical, pest control, cleaning, fire protection, security control systems, hydraulic services and approved contractor works.
  • Supervision of all common area cleaning and repairs and maintenance in accordance with the Caretaking Agreement.
  • Maintain an approved Body Corporate Contractors List.
  • Preparation of (but not limited to) building reports, plant and services schedules.
  • Assist the General Manager in the management of financial activity, including invoice approval, budget forecasting and expenditure control for the Body Corporate.
  • Timely liaison with the Owners Corporation on all matters after consultation with the Regional General Manager
  • Attend Owners Corporation meetings as requested by HM or GM – Bodies Corporate, including the annual general meeting, committee meetings and any extraordinary general meetings.
  • Act as the contact point for day to day enquiries from Bodies Corporate
  • Perform minor repairs & maintenance works  
  • Allocate and code all Body Corporate expenses/invoices to the appropriate area pursuant to Building Manager agreement.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will have:

  • Previous hands-on Maintenance/Facilities Management experience, preferably in a hotel environment;
  • Proven ability to manage and develop team members;
  • Experience implementing a preventative maintenance program;
  • Experience organising, consulting and negotiating with Contractors;
  • Sound MS Office skills (including Excel spreadsheets and word documents)
  • A passion for delivering exceptional, pro-active service;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications combined with impeccable presentation.
