Job Description

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done.  Anantara employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues.   Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

 

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Welcome guests to the pool and beach facilities and ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience
  • Assist in the cleanliness and the daily upkeep of the area
  • Guard and safeguard all guests members using the pool and beach facilities
  • Ensure that proper pool testing has taken place prior to guests using the facility
  • Ensure all guests are aware of the rules of the facilities
  • Provide a high level of guest satisfaction and safety through effective communication
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Other duties as assigned

 

·         Pool and Beach

  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and standards for all users around the water
  • Check water quality and clarity throughout shift, to ensure consistency and report any defects to appropriate department and resort supervisors
  • Report all repair & maintenance requirements’ of water facilities and services
  • Legibly document relevant  information in logbook
  • Maintain hotel’s standards, policies and procedures
  • Clearly communicate with proper grammar in English to the guests’ understanding both written and spoken
  • Set up workstation(s) with necessary supplies along with maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift
  • Handle guest complaints by following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Ensure that equipment is properly cleaned, stored and is secure when not in use
  • Assist the Towel Attendants as necessary
  • Carry out other duties as required by management from time to time, such as but not limited to lateral service in other parts of the Sports Club or Hotel and overnight cleaning

 

·         Leadership

  • Assist the leadership in maintaining a clean, safe and accident free environment
  • Perform Pools & Beach coverage tasks list
  • Create and develop new processes for future operations.
  • Be an ambassador for Anantara
  • Training and Development
  • Participate in weekly and monthly life guard training as set out by Senior Lifeguard, Supervisors or Manager.
  • Keep a log book of all trainings
  • Participate in recertification’s every 2 years
  • Participate in ad hoc on-the-job individual and team trainings as needed, which is aimed to ensure that all team members have the adequate job and product knowledge
  • Report to Senior Lifeguard to rectify any lack in knowledge immediately
  • Have sound knowledge of the hotel’s fire safety procedure
  • Successfully complete the training and certification process

·         Communication

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all guest information and pertinent hotel data
  • Ensure that all communication with members, guests and colleagues is complete, accurate, engaging and positive
  • Attend designated meetings, daily line-ups and communicate all challenges and successes with the rest of the team
  • Co-ordinate Lateral service throughout the Recreation.
  • Promptly, accurately and consistently report all guest incidents and how they were solved
  • Perform all tasks as detailed in daily task list and check list
  • Full understanding of the Recreation’s Activities and events
  • Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule
  • Participate in work related project teams

Qualifications

With Lifeguard Certification and with 2 to 5 years of experience in the same field
With good English communication skills
With pleasing personality
Ability to handle pressure at work 
Ability to multi-task
