You will serve the needs of the business, our guests and our colleagues by safeguarding the physical well-being of the property, and its employees and guests. The key responsibilities for this position are:

• Establish and oversee property emergency and applicable safety programs in accordance with required laws.
• Ensure compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations. Work with local building code officials as required.
• Investigate safety issues by interviewing those involved in the accident/incident to determine causes and recommend solutions.
• Direct and administer the patrol of all areas of the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks, and undesirable conditions. 
• Direct and lead investigations of accidents, thefts, property loss, and unlawful activities.
• Develop and Implement safety and emergency policies and procedures in the property. 
• Direct response to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
• Maintain awareness of all current regulations, laws, and Avani corporate guidelines, and ensure property loss prevention policies and procedures are in compliance. 
• Administer the property safety program.
• Conduct training for other operating departments on loss prevention and safety  matters.

• Certified in Security and Safety Management
• Has experience in managing firefighting equipment, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors and knowledge of occupational health and safety.
• At least five years operating experience in a hotel Security department including but not limited inhandling various emergencies and issues that can arise in relation to hotel security, and is able to advise management on all security matters.
• Experience working in Resort will be an advantage.
