Avani Fares is the first AVANI branded resort in Maldives, scheduled to open in December this year. With 200 keys and multiple F&B outlets we are looking for a strong Director of Food & Beverege to join our pre-opening team around June this year.  This position reports directly to the General Manager of the hotel and is key member of the senior leadership team. Previous pre-opening experience is a must!

Job Description

The Director of Food and Beverage will be responsible for the following :

  • Setting up all operating procedures, interviewing and training the pre-opening team, fine tuning the manning and the outlet's Food & Beverage selection whilst keeping the AVANI brand alive and at the core of all all hiring and product selection. 
  • Ensure the profitability, efficiency and creativity in each Food and Beverage outlet  - innovation and passion for all things food and beverage are key ingredients in our ideal candidate 
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing and Rooms Team to increase exposure and coverage of the Food & Beverage offerings, actively to keep the offering fresh and evolving to maximize the capture ratio of diners
  • Analyse and control food and beverage cost in order to achieve financial targets.
  • Approve menus, prices and promotional events for all Food & Beverage outlets in order to maximize revenue generating opportunities.
  • The Executive Chef reports to the F&B Director - ideally you would have previous experience on this same set-up. 
  • Identify areas for improvement in service and food & beverage quality by reviewing various service quality audit reports, guest comment cards and guest incident reports, and formulate action plans.
  • To encourage proactive, efficient and effective inter-departmental communication in order to promote a climate of teamwork and enthusiasm.
  • Act as a senior leader, promote the AVANI and Minor culture and core values through all interactions with team members 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management and further studies in food & beverage business and product knowledge is what we look for
  • 5+ years in a similar F&B management role, ideally within a remote or island destination
  • Experience in manging F&B and Culinary departments
  • Proficiency in spoken and written business English. All other languages are very welcomed!
  • Able to manage diverse operations with a multicultural team.
  • Creativity and innovation in Food and Beverage concepts and operations
  • Demonstrable achievements in improving customer satisfaction and profitability
  • Strong personality who fosters good team working relations with pleasant personality.
  • Flexible working hours, hands on, patient, people’s person and very service oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
