Job Description

1.     Job Purpose

The IT Director, Cloud Technology will provide strategy and executive leadership for the adoption of Cloud Practice across the MINOR Group lines of business (LOBs). S/he will provide thought leadership and expertise to influence leaders across the enterprise to facilitate and accelerate cloud application migration work.  The Director, Cloud Technology’s role is to plan, coordinate, architect, and supervise all activities related to the integration of software programs, applications, and third-party solutions to the Cloud to meet the business requirements of MINOR.   The Director, Cloud Technology, will drive the organization in defining its Cloud adoption strategy to integrate or migrate any system, any data source and any device to the MINOR Cloud platform.  The IT Director, Cloud Technology, will drive and support the strategy, planning, development and delivery of all Cloud related initiatives to the MINOR Group of companies in order to support the growth plans and Cloud adoption of the business.

The Director, Cloud Technology will report directly to the Group Director – Enterprise Architecture of the MINOR Group and receive direction from the Group Director – Enterprise Architecture with consultation from other executives pertaining to overall business needs and requirements of MINOR Group.  Reporting to the Director Cloud of Cloud Technology will be the IT Manager Infrastructure Architecture.  Additionally, may include a small matrixed team of analysts, researchers, technologists and Industry champions in executing MINOR’s Transformation strategy.

2.     Main Responsibilities

Cloud Policies and Strategies:

  • Provides thought leadership and expertise to drive and sequence Enterprise adoption of Cloud practice across MINOR LOBs.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging Cloud developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with executive/senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future Cloud strategies.
  • Influences and educates leaders across enterprise on Cloud Application Migration initiatives.
  • Drives Cloud adoption initiatives while ensuring effective execution and alignment to the IT strategy.
  • Advises senior leadership on progress towards key milestones.
  • Creates, leads and drives approved Cloud strategy.

Defining Cloud Architectures, Drive Cloud Implementation:

  • Creates, leads and drives the creation of metrics to monitor implementation progress and measure benefit realization for all Cloud migration deliverables.
  • Creates, leads and drives the identification, development, and implementation of strategic process improvements that improve quality across the team, business unit, and/or the organization as it relates to Cloud transformation.
  • Promotes and exposes progress with Cloud penetration and integrates cloud strategy work with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Security to support the Digital strategy.
  • Creates, leads and drives and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within the Cloud space.
  • Provides highly specialized expertise and thought leadership to internal/external stakeholders for the Cloud space.
  • Builds organizational capability within the Cloud space.
  • Creates, leads and drives the development and implementation of an execution plan inclusive of quick wins/proof of concepts to realize immediate benefits within the Cloud space.

Qualifications

Education:

·         Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or any related fields

Experience:

  • 10+ Years of experience in technology adoption including strong experience with Cloud technology transformation

    Qualifications:

  • Must have prior experience leading Cloud migration across an enterprise.
  • Experience with DevOps Infrastructure
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and business plans to deliver and exceed expected business objectives and results.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement processes improvements.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior/executive management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
  • Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior/executive management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Understands the interdependencies of how people and organizations function and can negotiate through complex political situations effectively.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Demonstrated experience as a thought leader. Will be able to demonstrate being sought after for advice, counsel, and judgment.
  • Must be a SME in Cloud Technology, with proven experience successfully pivoting as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.
  • Advocates effectively, readily command attention and respect in groups as demonstrated by people listening to and getting on board with initiatives for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility
