Job Description

1. Job Purpose:

To be in charge of managing the overall performance of Minor Food Thailand sourcing products in all categories under Minor Food brands, factories, and external business partners that meet the organizations specifications from approved suppliers at the least costs (Total Cost of Ownership) to the system. This requires a broad knowledge of both local & international suppliers’ capabilities and the ability to influence these suppliers to meet our objectives on products, prices and service levels.

2. Main Responsibilities: 

  • Design and establish overall Thailand sourcing strategy & initiatives to maximize benefit to the business, and align with business strategy.

  • Supervise and manage day-to-day sourcing operations to support business requirement and help achieve business targets.

  • Establish and maintain good relations with industries, trades and Government authorities for good understanding and create proper infrastructure to support Supply Chain Management.

  • Lead, manage, control and assist in the development, recommendation and implementation of supply chain related cost saving initiatives as part of the Operation Excellence global initiative. Follow-up on savings achievement and report variances on a monthly basis using available tools and channels.

  • Lead and represent supply chain team to prepare and present supply chain relevant matters and initiatives to relevant brands/ parties.

  • Based on the costs allocation and potential impact on P&L, lead and provide comments as well as supply chain initiatives/ recommendation to the Management to improve the overall costs saving.

  • Supervise, explore and manage Supply Chain Operation Excellence. Work as the change driver for Supply Chain target.

  • Develop and propose the improvement and strategic advice to AVP Supply Chain Management. Deliverables focus in the area of achieve risk management objectives, target cost saving, reduction on total cost of ownership, increase total chain responsiveness, and operational efficiency.

  • Lead, manage, and fulfil brand/ executive requirement, as well as deliver targeted COG and relevant supply chain KPI for all brands through supply chain strategies & initiatives.

  • Lead and manage team for product launch preparation to achieve launch schedule.

  • Lead and manage daily operations dealing, including delivery, price/cost analysis, contract negotiation, policies and procedures compliance, logistical co-ordination and liaison support to other functions in the company.

  • Lead and fulfil high demand and supply projection and reliability for short, medium and long term.

  • Manage and resolve the appropriate stock cover to meet company objectives; minimize stock shortages and write-off.

  • Lead with action, manage, and provide directions for managing exceptional situations, such as promotional stock allocation, production priorities, production changes, promotion changes, aging stock, etc.

  • Understand your suppliers’ capabilities and manage your product categories to consolidate purchase volumes, improve product quality, provide more efficient service and reduce costs to achieve company objectives.

3. Job Profile:

  • Standard working week, flexible as job requirements as required
  • Job may require occasional work on holidays & weekends, as needed
  • Work with multiple stakeholders internally and externally
  • Manage a large team of managers and specialists (a team of 8 persons)
  • Handle multiple projects at any given point in time
  • Moderate supplier visits and store visits
  • Frequent presentation in English language
  • Frequent use of computer programs

5.  Approval & Authorisation:

  • Supply Chain system/ Product profile
  • E-Leave, PA, Smart Recruiter – for subordinates, if any
  • I – Expense (Oracle) – for subordinates, if any

Qualifications

Qualification:

  • Extensive experience in supply chain operations including, forecasting and planning, procurement, warehousing operations. Demonstrated ability to think and lead strategically within Supply Chain area.
  • Partnership management & development.
  • Financial & business acumen and able to understand cost driver, cost structure, total cost of ownership.
  • Product knowledge and understanding of product life cycle, product application and value chain.
  • Food industry & related commodity knowledge and trends.
  • Basic knowledge of QA and food safety.
  • Risk management and crisis management.
  • Knowledge of logistics and distribution.
  • Knowledge of international regulatory, cross-border supply chain, customs and global trade

Education:

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree / MBA or any related field

Experience:

  • At least 15 years of demonstrated work experience in food sourcing within a multinational organization.
  • Ideally, at least 3-year experience of leading a team.
