Job Description

To work closely with CEO to create and execute the business plan that is aligned with MCL business strategy The role is to put the emphasis on execution of financial and accounting activities to deliver the successful implementation of the MCL strategy and initiatives whilst maximizing the return on the investment to the stakeholders.  This role  is expected to support EXCOM decision, by providing useful financial analysis information on timely and accurate manner.  He/she has direct responsibility of leading and guiding all financial and accounting activities in order that the expected company performance is aligned with MINOR Group Fin & Acct policy. He/she is also responsible for on-time and accurate financial reports including the effective budget preparation that can be used as a guideline of business operations throughout the year.    

Main Responsibilities:

1) Business Financial Management:

  • Give and seek advice to improve financial returns.  Directly deal with COO and support the entire company based on accuracy and timely financial analysis on the current and the further improvement for the future
  • Monitor and control business performance by comparison of actual results versus budget on a continuous basis.  This includes the proposal of area of improvement 
  • Support GM and BMs in selling price trends and issues including promotion and discount. Relate external economic factors to marketing planning

2) Management Reporting: Take full accountability of timely, accurate, appropriate management information.  Prepare monthly management financial report with support management decision making such as profit control analysis, etc. Ensure reporting procedures are clearly defined and updated to reflect the business needs currently and of the future.  Take part in regular reviews with the operational management team

3) Budgeting Process: Develop budget and strategy plan in order to support the preparation of annual budget that involves in reviewing the future business plan

4) Financial Planning: Provide input of financial planning, e.g. loss stores management from loss to break-even and profit, allocation of resources among various projects, renovation, generate more returns, etc.

5) Risk Management:

  • Reduce risk that may occur to all Brands.  Ensure operations is complied with tax regulations and financial statements reflect all related transactions of each and every periods
  • Run feasibility study of new outlet and control CAPEX of new outlet and any related renovation

6) Management Information Systems: Proactively support the Company in the selection and implementation of financial and operations systems

7) Manage Balance Sheet Items: Improve working capital, return on assets and CAPEX management

8) Expenses Approval: Oversee the expense and CAPEX approval process

9) Ad-hoc assignments as required by the business

Qualifications

  • Good command of both spoken and written English, 
  • Good analytical, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
  • Able to play role as strategic member in the organization 
  • Able to work and drive team to deliver result  in a fast-paced environment, independently with minimal supervision and a team-oriented atmosphere and support the management team in a proactive manner
  • Able to handle multiple assignments in highly pressured situations and consistently meet tight deadline schedules
  • Work well with fellow employees, innovative, energetic, flexible, dependable, detail and result oriented, commercially-oriented finance, strong leadership, sense of responsibility and self motivation, highly organized and dedicated with a positive attitude
