Job Description

You have experience in all areas of Hotel Finance ? You already showed outstanding performance as Assistant Director of Finance, Financial Controller or Assistant Financial Controller (or similar jobs) in a luxury hotel ? You are good at helping others to achieve their goals ? You are committed to always delivering accurate figures and reports in time ? You are familiar with cash management, balance sheet reconciliations and payroll administration ? You have a hands-on approach and strive to get the best deals ?

We are looking for an experienced ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FINANCE.

As Assistant Director of Finance you need to see yourself as a strong support for the Director of Finance and all other departmental managers and take on responsibility for outstanding performance of the whole finance and purchasing team.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Leading the accounting team

·         Check and authorization of Purchase Orders

·         Authorization for payroll payments and changes in salaries and conditions

·         Checking and authorization of payments submitted from Accounts Payable

·         Monitoring of bank account balances and cash-flow including cash-flow forecasts

·         Checking and authorization of petty-cash-payments

·         Tax computation and payments

·         Approval and monitoring of licenses and contracts

·         Preparation and processing of monthend postings

·         Monthend reporting and ad-hoc-reports as required

·         Budgeting and Forecasting (based on USALI)

·         Account Reconciliations

·         Develop ways to gain additional efficiency and reduce costs

·         Organize and lead P&L- and Credit-meetings

·         Legal procedures

·         Training and Development of Finance team members

·         Advisor to the General Manager

·         Development of policies and procedures for the whole resort

·         Management of banking relations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Finance from a reputable university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in luxury hotels as Assistant Director of Finance or 5 years as Assistant Financial Controller (or similar)
  • Experience in international luxury hotel chains essential
  • Working experience in GCC-area is required, working history in Oman is considered highly beneficial
  • Very good spoken and written English (must be able to draft and check contracts). Knowledge of Arabic beneficial.
  • Ability to deliver accurate reports and information in time
  • Good career progression and stability with employers, at least 2-3 years in past and current roles. No job hopping
  • Working on weekends, public holidays and long hours as required (monthend closing, budgeting, forecasts)
  • Driving license valid for Oman (beneficial).
  • University education in a finance- or tourism-related field.
  • Detailed knowledge of USALI
  • Good knowledge of SUN, Opera and Micros
  • Knowledge of Check SCM (beneficial)
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel required, good knowledge of all other Office-products
  • Experience with working in hotels in remote locations is essential
  • References from within MINOR Hotels are highly appreciated.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team with various nationalities

The Director of Finance is based on the resort on Jabal Akhdar, Oman.
