Position Brand Description:
The Quality Control Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring compliance with cGMP, safety and company requirements for Elanco Kansas City Quality Control.  The lab tech performs physical testing to support the stability program and finished product release.  The lab tech interacts with laboratory personnel, Quality Assurance, manufacturing and MS&T to solve problems, improve laboratory practices and methods and to implement improvement in business processes.  Position may have exposure to potential allergens or other environmental hazards.

Minimum Requirements:
•           Required to work in a laboratory environment wearing required personal protective equipment.
•           Some exposure to hormones possible in laboratory environment. 
•           Proficient in the following computer systems:  Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
•           Self-driven and able to work independently.
•           Demonstrates ownership and accountability.
•           Strong quality mindset, attention to detail, administrative and organizational skills.
•           Able to prioritize to meet customer needs and demonstrates flexibility.
•           Good customer service and multi-tasking skills. 
•           Ability to stand/sit for up to a few hours a day.
•           Able to lift 20 pounds.
•           Innovation and creativity
•           Must be able to wear required PPE and be able to comply and follow all gowning requirements (e.g. gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, dust mask and respirator; must obtain fit testing and medical clearance for mask and respirator)
•           All candidates must provide personal and professional references. 
•           Background checks may be required.  Drug and/or alcohol testing may be required.
•           Candidates should have no attendance or disciplinary actions pending in their current employment situation.

Additional Preferences:
•           Thorough knowledge of cGMPs and laboratory quality systems. 
•           Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills. 
•           Strong communication and networking skills. 

Education Requirements:
•           Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent directly-related experience.
•           Experience in the pharmaceutical industry 2-5 years, preferred but not required.
