Job Description

MindPoint Group is seeking an experienced Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)Engineer to create and maintain desktop images and deploy centralized VDI. The engineer will also support the design, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of the VDI infrastructure and provide technical support to internal and external federal government clients. The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on the VDI solution
  • Perform system administration and support duties on the existing VDI solution
  • Accurately log/ticket, track, and resolve incidents
  • Provide accurate, timely, and professional resolution on all supported incidents and issues
  • Evaluate existing VDI solution and establish a technical design to upgrade solution
  • Develop system administration documentation in support of accreditation requirements
  • Provide a high level of professionalism and customer service
  • Provide updates to management and project leadership of all ongoing critical issues
  • Work closely with engineers, infrastructure, and helpdesk to ensure that all problems are resolved quickly
  • Other duties as assigned by management and the customer

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret clearance required and SCI eligible
  • Minimum will have 6 years of general work experience in IT and 2 years supporting VDI solutions
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent on the job work experience
  • Citrix Certified Administration / VMware Certified Administrator certifications preferred
  • Broad understanding of VDI Hosting and Delivery technologies
  • Experience hardening the environment to facilitate security compliance
  • Experience with interfacing and integrating with storage, networking, and server engineers
  • Experience in sizing, selecting, and ordering appropriate hardware for solutions and in performing troubleshooting of hardware problems
  • Experience with technologies such as:
  • Citrix XenDesktop, Unidesk, AppLayering
  • LAN, WAN, DNS, TCP/IP
  • Microsoft Server 2012/2016/2016
  • HP and/or Dell Servers
  • Active Directory, LDAP, GPO
  • Knowledge of NIST Federal security requirements and how they apply to hosted systems
  • Experience in hosted application delivery in classified networks
  • Knowledge of Data Center environment and operational best practices
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to learn quickly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
