Job Description

The MindMaze Neuroscience team is looking for a full-time neuroscientist (MD/PhD) specialized on decision making. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be the scientific lead on a research project on this topic. You will design and supervise scientific studies from conception to analysis and dissemination. You will communicate these results internally, and/or externally in conferences, events, and via academic publications. The role entails supervision and management of scientific activities within the neuroscience team at MindMaze. Furthermore, the role entails coordination with engineers to design and implement stimuli and data acquisition.

Your mission

  • To plan and conduct a neuro-technological research project around the neuroscience of decision making

Your responsibility

  • Review and monitor available literature on the neuroscience of decision making
  • Design gamified protocols on game theory and decision-making and supervise their technical implementation
  • Design experimental paradigms, and appropriate statistics, to evaluate the (electro-) physiological markers of decision making
  • Supervise experimental studies and their analysis

Qualifications

Skills that we look out for are among

  • PhD or MD PhD in neuroscience with an emphasis on decision making
  • 2+ years of postdoctoral experience with strong evidence of research output quality
  • Track record of expertise in psychophysics, electroencephalography (EEG), physiology or neuroimaging
  • Strong understanding of the scientific method and advanced statistical design
  • Comfortable with using high-level programming languages (e.g., Python/Matlab) and software for statistical data analysis (e.g., R, SPSS, Statistica) and visualization.
  • English proficiency (spoken, written)

Icing on the cake

  • Experience in the analysis of behavioral measures such as eye movements and facial expressions.
  • Experience of working in a medical device company.
