To strengthen its creative department, MindMaze is searching for a highly skilled 3D digital artist with the ability to demonstrate how real-time lighting, shadows, and colours create environmental tones and moods that can help bring MindMaze’s visual content to the next level while respecting the constrains of the medical domain.

Job Description

As a 3D digital artist within MindMaze’s artistic team, you will be responsible for making creative decisions concerning asset creation and design that can be integrated seamlessly into MindMaze products.

You will:

  • Master the process of modelling, texturing, lighting for MindMaze’s rehabilitation video games;
  • Working closely with the Art Director and the Game Designer to conceptualize and implement real-time lighting solutions that satisfy both aesthetic and gameplay objectives;
  • Anticipate different production constraints with various modelling and lighting techniques, and understand the budgeting restrictions associated with them;
  • Create, maintain, and communicate documentation for guidelines and implementation techniques;
  • Respect the artistic direction given to MindMaze projects.

Qualifications

To be successful you can illustrate the fact that you have the following abilities:

  • A longstanding passion for video games;
  • A portfolio, or demo reel that demonstrates skills and creativity;
  • A high level of creativity and a track record of consistently thinking out of the box;
  • Ability to build constructive work relationships and at ease with interacting with colleagues from other departments;
  • Extremely well organized, with a strong focus on detail, and the ability to set levels of detail-orientation that you require colleagues to meet;
  • Ability to solve problems in a fast-paced, ever-changing business environment. Displaying a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems;
  • A good sense of humor and at ease working both autonomously and as being part of a team.

Essential skills:

  • A solid foundation in the traditional arts;
  • A minimum of 2-3 years video game development experience;
  • Experience using Unity 3D;
  • Thorough understanding of real-time, and pre-rendered lighting techniques;
  • Proven ability to create environmental assets, stylized or realistic, ranging from hard-surface vehicles and props to organic assets and entire set pieces;
  • Ability to Interpret artistic direction with ease, with or without concept art;
  • Ability to create efficient UVs and topology for production;
  • Understand current animation/vfx production pipelines with a focus on Modeling, texturing and lighting;
  • Ability to concept model, texture and light entire scenes for look development;
  • Knowledge of current animation programs like Maya/Max, Zbrush/Mudbox, substance painter and Photoshop;
  • Minimum C1 level of French and/or English.

Icing on the cake:

  • Prior experience of working in a rehabilitation or medical company;
  • Prior exposure to a Holocratic organisation.
