Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Quality Engineer to lead quality transformation across cloud-native platforms and enterprise products. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for defining automation strategy, improving release quality, and driving engineering excellence across distributed teams.

This role requires strong hands-on expertise along with strategic influence across Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Strategy & Governance
  • Define and drive enterprise-level quality strategy.

  • Establish release quality gates and measurable KPIs.

  • Improve DORA metrics, defect escape rates, and automation coverage.

  • Implement shift-left testing and quality engineering best practices.

Test Architecture & Automation
  • Design scalable automation frameworks (UI, API, integration, performance).

  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Lead API, microservices, and cloud validation testing.

  • Improve automation stability and execution efficiency.

Cloud & Platform Validation
  • Validate AWS/Azure/GCP-based deployments.

  • Lead performance, resiliency, and reliability testing.

  • Drive containerized and Kubernetes-based test strategy.

  • Partner with SRE teams on SLO/SLA validation.

Technical Leadership
  • Mentor senior QA engineers and SDETs.

  • Influence architecture decisions from a quality standpoint.

  • Lead quality reviews for major releases and migrations.

  • Collaborate with global engineering teams.

Required Qualifications
  • 12–15+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / Test Architecture.

  • Strong programming skills (Java or Python preferred).

  • Expertise in:

    • Selenium / Playwright / Cypress

    • REST API testing frameworks

    • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)

    • Performance testing tools (JMeter, k6)

    • Docker & Kubernetes

  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).

  • Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in large-scale cloud migration validation.

  • Knowledge of observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).

  • Exposure to security and compliance testing.

  • Experience working with global teams across time zones.
