Job Description
Hardware Engineer provides hardware support for workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment, including procurement, inventory, repair, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
- Configure, install & maintain all standard PC and Mac hardware and software which includes all aspects of the installation process from receiving equipment, installation of software, testing, and delivery to end user.
- Responsible for documenting standard operating procedures and other processes related to the operation of the Hardware Team.
- Perform computer equipment upgrades and repairs (e.g., memory installations, driver upgrades).
- Provide hardware support for printers and other IT equipment.
- Maintain the asset management database containing all the information necessary for the lifecycle of an IT asset.
- Maintain stock locations for storing assets awaiting deployment or disposal.
- Create and manage reports and use them to maintain inventory of computer supplies and equipment.
- Provide timely status reports that maintain service level agreement for delivery of quality service.
- Provide advance notification to IT management regarding potential issues before they occur.
- Work closely with the Customer Support Team to troubleshoot and provide support for Windows and Mac workstations for headquarters and off-site customers.
- Support on and off-site corporate events.
- Research and resolve customer issues in a timely and accurate manner with minimal guidance.
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a computer hardware environment, or the equivalent combination of formal education, training and experience.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software including the latest Microsoft Windows and Mac operating systems as well as Microsoft Office, and common desktop applications.
- Ability to interact with vendors and internal customers.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills.
- Ability to adhere to and meet deliverables following strict service level agreements.
A plus:
- A+ or similar certifications

- This is on-site position - it is necessary to come to the office on daily basis (Tysons Corner, VA)
