The Role:
Reporting directly to the Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer, the Senior Vice President, Sales Engineering will lead the MicroStrategy’s Sales Engineering (Presales) function. This role will provide leadership and direction that enhances a collaborative approach to sales amongst sales teams and build relationships across key organizations such as Technology, Services, and Marketing that are key to success in these areas. This role will be responsible for meeting revenue objectives while sponsoring projects that enhance MicroStrategy’s capabilities.
Your Focus:
Lead the teams responsible for the creation of and execution on MicroStrategy’s sales strategy in critical product solutions areas and Sales Engineering.
Lead, develop, train and manage the team of Sales Engineers (SEs) to develop and deliver winning product presentations.
Foster the career and skill development of the Sales Engineering organization globally
Contribute to the company’s achievement of annual sales goals.
Provide leadership in the development, quality assurance and oversight of the demo process and delivery.
Work closely with Product Marketing and Product Management to provide feedback on solutions and sales interactions.
Work closely with Sales and Sales management on sales opportunities strategy.
Engage with key customers and accounts to establish and nurture relationships with executive leadership and business sponsors.
Participate in industry events/organizations as a thought leader and promote products/business solutions at conferences, forums and seminars.
Provide reporting on sales activities, customer initiatives, and product requirements
Work with cross-functional team leaders to align Strategic sales strategy across the company
Required Experience and Skills:
Motivation, Innovation, Passion, Integrity, Teamwork, Customer-Focus.
Transparent and collaborative
BS/BA Degree, Computer Science or Marketing (with technology focus); MBA preferred
Extensive experience as a leader within a sales and marketing organization
10+ yeas of global leadership and management experience
5+ years of global sales leadership experience
Persuasive communication, presentation and relationship building skills
Excellent time management capabilities
Strong writing skills
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office business software
Willingness to travel up to 20%
Must be an initiative-taker willing to put in the time necessary to drive sales activity through the MicroStrategy channel or as unquestioned referral activity for MicroStrategy direct sales organization
