Job Description

The MicroStrategy Customer Success Manager (CSM) role was born out of the need to accommodate each customer’s unique set of requirements as they adopt MicroStrategy technology and solutions. This individual will manage a portfolio of customers who have implemented our technology solutions with the goal of increasing product usage and overall adoption and ensuring each customer renews their annual agreement with MicroStrategy across all of our platforms.. This position is an integral part of MicroStrategy's long term relationship with its customers, and the efforts put forth by this individual will directly impact the value realized and the ultimate success of the business relationship. Beyond direct interaction with our customers, this individual will work with internal MicroStrategy business units (Technical Support, Field Sales, Legal and Finance) to ensure customer needs are being met in a timely manner. In addition, the role will be responsible for conducting Strategic Business Development to existing customers, with the objective of introducing/positioning MicroStrategy’s products and services to key decision-makers to drive activity through the initial phases of the sales cycle. In order to succeed in this role, this individual must have an intense focus on customer success with strong influence and abilities to drive on time renewal & sales activities.

Job Role:

  • Efficient and reliable operations management of the renewal process from quote delivery through negotiations and close.
  • Develop strong customer relationships so that the customer is feeling as if they were partnering with MicroStrategy
  • Being able to interact closely with all our customers on a wide range of topics to become their trusted advisor.
  • Carry out regular health checks with all clients aimed to identify issues and concerns and work internally with several teams in addressing and resolving them.
  • Execute programs to ensure that MicroStrategy is fully aware of the customer's adoption level, value realization, and overall satisfaction with the technology solution(s) and MicroStrategy
  • Conduct Strategic Business Development to existing customers, with the objective of introducing/positioning MicroStrategy’s products and services to key decision makers to drive renewals & activities through the initial phases of the sales cycle. 
  • Collaborate with Sales Account Management and executives to identify areas of solution expansion and adoption opportunities
  •  Maintain daily activities in system of record, tracking Health Check interactions with customers and the current status of renewal and early stage sales opportunities
  • Provide daily/weekly updates to manager on individual activity and provide regular updates on account health and renewal status to the larger sales organization

Qualifications

  • Up to 3 years of experience working with customers
  • Fluent Japanese and English 
  • Client-focused attitude — a customer advocate
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written are a must
  • Previous direct experience and demonstrated comfort in interacting with Senior Management will be a plus
  • Self-starter with an ability to identify areas for improvement
  • Must possess an enthusiastic personality and foster a positive work environment
  • Understanding of packaged application software implementation practices
  • Strong analytical skills
