Job Description

The Role:  

This position will report to the EVP and Chief Information Officer and be accountable for all enterprise-wide application initiatives by developing and executing the roadmap for ITS (Information Technology Systems) activities within MicroStrategy. This position will be responsible for the planning, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of all business applications including HR, Finance, CRM systems, Marketing Websites, Education and Training systems. As part of SOX compliance efforts, this role will support all SOX related activities including providing evidence, participating in monthly and quarterly reviews of IT controls as well as audit walk-throughs. This role will partner with other ITS leaders to support the technology initiatives of all departments to meet the business objectives. The successful candidate should have a solid track record of delivering complex IT projects providing business value, building effective business partnerships, leading business process / IT transformation initiatives, and cost management while ensuring a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork to achieve common goals. 

Your Focus:  

  • Provide technical leadership and partner with business leaders to deliver corporate technology initiatives integrated with the business processes for Finance and HR.  
  • Engage with business leaders across Marketing to influence and create the right IT solutions including Corp Websites, Investor Relations, Education and Social media activities. 
  • Work with IT apps team and Technology teams to identify, recommend, develop, implement, integration related projects for On-Prem vs Cloud operations  
  • Identify emerging technology trends, in the area of SaaS and cloud technologies and support automation and digital experience. 
  • Engage with Cloud Provider evaluations about MicroStrategy cloud utilization and ensure the most cost-effective resource utilization  
  • Be a hands-on leader to manage high priority projects and all application integration development initiatives and ensure delivery to meet expectations on functionality, impeccable quality and timeline as well as on budget. Remove roadblocks, mitigate risks and provide solutions without any excuses. 
  • Drive the cultural changes needed to enable a continuous delivery model and focus on automation of QA initiatives, process documentation as well as design reviews.  
  • Develop, implement and monitor software development policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance. Attend weekly compliance meetings to review policies and control for SOX compliance.  
  • Manage timely collection of evidence and support IT compliance activities.  
  • Manage vendor relationships and work with purchasing for all maintenance renewals.  
  • Recruit, develop and retain high caliber talent and continuously upskill team members to keep them motivated and up to date with technology trends. 
  • Evaluate team members' performance, provide candid feedback and high impact coaching to maintain high efficiency and morale of the team emphasizing the need for cross team collaboration. 

 

Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills:

You should also bring the following:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field 
  • Minimum 10+ years of technical execution experience in enterprise business systems along with the knowledge of infrastructure needed for operations in a globally distributed environment  
  • Demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex/dynamic environments. 
  • Knowledge ERP financial systems, CRM implementation while following the guidelines for SOX compliance. 
  • 10+ years of management experience with 7+ at Director/VP level application responsibility 
  • Excellent change management and project management skills and strong experience with core business applications including Salesforce, Oracle, Workday, etc. 
  • Current on business applications, trends in IT, and experience evaluating/implementing outsourced solutions and service providers 
  • Understanding of relevant tools and platforms (e.g. cloud platforms, web technologies, API, continuous integration and deployment) and strong business acumen and ability to understand and drive business objectives. 
  • Experience at setting and communicating priorities effectively with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities that aligned with the business outcomes. 
  • Ability to remove barriers, resolve conflicts, act with a sense of urgency, foster a culture of transparency and a sense of purpose among the team, and create clear accountabilities and metrics. 
  • Experience with Vendor negotiations. 
  • Ability to communicate technical or complex subject matter in business terms. 
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability 
  • Experience in managing highly available (24/7) enterprise level infrastructure
