Job Summary

Consultants empower customers to make more informed decisions by providing timely, relevant, and accurate answers to their business questions.  To achieve this mission, Consultants work to understand business needs and technical requirements, and design and implement high value solutions in the MicroStrategy platform.  Consultants are an integral part of the world's largest staff of MicroStrategy Certified Engineers and leverage knowledge and best practices across our global team for customer success.  

Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Delivers billable consulting services for customers in Japan. Efforts may be directed toward various MicroStrategy and / or supporting products and services

· Participates in the full project life cycle, taking ideas from concept through full deployment

· Ensures a solid understanding of business objectives associated with projects and/or programs to which he or she is assigned

· Displays an awareness of the competitive landscape including key differentiators and competitive  positioning

· Defines a project approach to ensure customer and account success. Provides critical and constructive guidance levering MicroStrategy best practices to customers, steering them towards a long-term vision for  success

· Develops customer relationship and expectation management skills by independently working with customers and demonstrates influence towards optimal outcomes

· Leverages technical competence and implementation experience to develop functional and technical application design skills

· Actively participates in internal knowledge-sharing forums

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree or related field

· Experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics

· Minimum 2 years of related experience

· Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages, such as Java, C++, C#, Objective C is a plus

· Experience with front-end web technologies: JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS 3, Rest APIs is a plus

· Database and/or Big Data knowledge

· Experience with SQL, practical knowledge of Data Modeling or ETL tools is a plus

· Experience with Python or R and the ability to drill into the data and gain valuable insights is a plus

· Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and other fundamental Computer Science concepts 

· Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

· Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and business requirements

· Effective oral, written communication and presentation skills

· Commitment to personal and professional growth

· Ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team environment

· Staffing to local projects wherever possible, however field consultants can expect periods and assignments in customers in another countries/regions

· Fluent Japanese and English.
