Job Description

Metronome is seeking a driven and dynamic individual for an internship at our Fairfax, Virginia office. The ideal candidate is someone who is excited about contributing to the success of a growing small business and making friends with a dynamic team. The position will entail various small projects and overall Metronome company initiatives, whether they be operational, technological or financial in nature.

Working for a small business provides both the opportunity and necessity for practicing multiple disciplines. Whether you specialize in IT, Administration, Editing, Finance or Accounting, your skills will be greatly appreciated. But be prepared to be agile. We absolutely do not silo people into narrow specialties.

Tasks we often need help with:

  • Editing and formatting resumes
  • Organizing paperwork
  • Planning events and making appointments
  • Planning and implementing social media outreach/marketing
  • Updating financial and managerial spreadsheets
  • Working with files hosted on Microsoft Office 365/SharePoint
  • Purchasing and/or assembling furniture and computer equipment

Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office Savvy – Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Familiar with the operation of Windows PCs
  • Knowledge of Office 365 and/or SharePoint preferred
  • Familiarity with mobile devices preferred (iPhone, Android, Windows Phone)
  • Agile and flexible work style
  • A friendly, fun, open-minded attitude
  • Any knowledge of business, especially small business is a great plus
