Job Description

The SharePoint Administrator researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software and Designs, develops, codes, tests, and debugs complex new software products, or makes significant enhancements to existing software. The successful candidate will research and integrate design strategies, product specifications, development schedules and user expectations into product capabilities and resolve complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.

DUTIES

  • Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity
  • Researches emerging technologies to determine their impact on application execution
  • Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation, such as user manuals, system documentation and training materials
  • Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software operating systems and application issues
  • Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed and input/output requirements
  • Prepares reports on analyses, findings and project progress
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced software engineers
  • May serve as a technical team or task leader
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned and participates in special projects as required
  • Designs, tests, builds and troubleshoots SharePoint infrastructure
  • Migrates content between SharePoint sites and farms (2010 to 2013) and troubleshoots for content integrity
  • Configures, maintains and troubleshoots SQL servers and databases with standard, clustered and always-on configurations
  • Builds-out and configures SharePoint 2010 and 2013 environments, both on premises and in the cloud (AWS), across various enclaves
  • Tests and deploys patches on SharePoint servers
  • Tests and deploys SharePoint solutions across different environments
  • Creates and updates sites, lists, workflows and forms
  • Enters and briefs SharePoint infrastructure change requests
  • Tests, coordinates and implements SharePoint infrastructure changes
  • Creates and presents infrastructure and engineering presentation slides/diagrams, to management and colleagues
  • Gathers program and user requirements, to establish SharePoint application needs and capabilities
  • Seeks new program work with the SharePoint API, as a basis for development activities and solutions

Qualifications

  • Government clearance required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  • 8-10 years of Systems Engineering/related software development experience
  • 3-5 years SharePoint Administration experience
  • Experience with both SharePoint 2010 and 2013 environments
  • Experience migrating from SharePoint 2010 to 2013
  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of SharePoint environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with SharePoint, Windows Server, IIS and SQL
  • Experience with both Windows Server 2008 and 2012 operating systems
  • Experience managing SharePoint content databases in SQL Server 2008, 2012 and 2014
  • Experience troubleshooting SQL database connection issues
  • Familiarity with securing web applications and servers with DISA STIGs
  • Experience scripting with PowerShell in SharePoint
  • Strong experience patching SharePoint Servers and Windows Server operations systems
  • Strong experience backing up, restoring and moving sites and lists within SharePoint environments
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience creating/editing custom SharePoint workflows and InfoPath forms
  • Experience tuning SharePoint to optimize performance
  • Familiarity with SharePoint 2016
  • Experience installing and configuring Project Server
  • Familiarity with SharePoint 3rd party tools
  • Experience writing technical documentation
  • Excellent oral and written communication
