Job Description

The Cyber Security Engineer provides security engineering designs and implementation, in all aspects of Information Assurance and Information Security (InfoSec) Engineering. The successful candidate will verify security requirements, perform system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities and will support secure systems operations and maintenance.

This role serves as the Cyber Security Engineer position for the SOC program. This position is responsible for engineering design, security tools maintenance and the development of cyber security technology along, with the integration of new architectural features into existing infrastructure.

DUTIES

  • Assesses and mitigates system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle
  • Validates system security requirements definition and analysis
  • Establishes system security designs
  • Implements security designs in hardware, software, data and procedures
  • Applies cyber security standards, directives, guidance and policies to an architectural framework
  • Performs security tool maintenance as required
  • Supports multi-disciplined teams, in the design and implementation of the cyber security system architecture
  • Provides architectural analyses of cyber security features and relates the existing system to future needs and trends
  • Provides broad based experience in the systems engineering lifecycle and applies the experience to specific cyber security initiatives, relating to architectural design and development
  • Resolves architecture implementation issues during integration and test

Qualifications

  • Government clearance required
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree; or 4 years of professional experience required with a related PhD or JD; or no experience required with an MD
  • Considered an emerging authority
  • More than 5 years of experience working within an enterprise operations environment, with a focus on cyber security
