Job Description

The Sr. Test Engineer will support test efforts for a number of software and systems development activities, hosted on a virtual big data platform and will be responsible for creating test procedures and scripts, based on requirements and usage. The Test Engineer will be responsible for executing test cases and scripts, will provide reports detailing findings and will identify opportunities for improvement.

The tester should have some experience in the installation of software applications and the operation of environments supporting testing. Some experience in conducting formalized tests, including unit, functional performance and smoke testing is required. The Test Engineer should be familiar with performing systems tests and will provide test guidance and timely problem resolution, through root cause and corrective action techniques.  

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automated software testing and scripting, knowledge of testing best practices and defect management processes and proven experience in delivering quality products. A background or strong interest in business analysis or requirements analysis would be beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Government clearance required
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree. Considered career or journey level
  • Experience with test case creation and execution, test reporting and testing methodologies
  • Fully versed and proficient in the use of Microsoft office products
  • Strong sustainment oriented technical background a plus
  • Software development experience is not required but would be a plus
  • Experience with Linux and virtualized platforms desired
