Job Description

What you will do

We are searching for a freelance content strategist that will work on a project-by-project basis.

Metia believes that delivering the right content to the right customer in the right context is key to successful marketing, and a content strategist’s utmost responsibility is to help these three things converge. This includes not only the front-end work of messaging and user journeys but also the back-end work of putting the models and processes in place to deliver and maintain the resulting content.

Project possibilities include:

  • Conducting content discovery work to get at the heart of content needs

  • Moderating workshops and interviews with stakeholders and users

  • Partnering with the strategy and insights team in discovery and application of audience insights

  • Auditing and mapping content toward a variety of outcomes, like message prioritization, journey phases, channel planning, and gap analysis

  • Defining content models and metadata recommendations for CMS design, information architecture, and UX design

  • Building content governance frameworks (including deliverables like workflows, guides, templates, and calendars) to set the plan for creating, curating, and maintaining content in accordance to the strategy

  • Writing messaging and positioning frameworks

  • Evaluating content performance and making recommendations based on quantitative analysis

Qualifications

What you need to bring

  • 5-7 years of experience executing and managing digital content projects

  • Experience working with companies large and small, with varying levels or complexity when it comes to business structures and dynamics

  • Leadership skills to guide client buy-in, stakeholder agreement, and internal execution

  • Passion and high standards for quality content and user experiences

  • Ability to listen and translate ideas into actionable, measurable strategies

  • Strong editorial and communication skills

  • Analytical skills to draw insights from qualitative and quantitative data

  • Familiarity with SEO and UX best practices

  • Familiarity with content best practices across digital channels, including email, social media, websites, and search
