Job Description

We have multiple openings for Technical Support Specialists who staff our helpdesk supporting US Department of Defense automated weather observing systems. This is a full-time position. You will provide technical support via phone and email for equipment operating worldwide. The supported equipment includes but is not limited to data collection systems, sensors, computer systems (including cybersecurity functions), networks, and mechanical components.

This position is temporarily remote.

  • Learn and understand the operation, maintenance, and repair of weather monitoring systems by reading technical manuals.
  • Provide technical support to end users and maintenance technicians via phone and email.
  • Work closely with engineering team to resolve complex problems.
  • Accurately enter data into ticket tracking systems and asset management systems.
  • Process customer feedback questionnaires.
  • Work with shipping/receiving and repair staff to ensure replacement parts are tested and shipped on time.
  • Monitor status of spare parts inventory to help prioritize ongoing repairs.
  • Monitor status of tickets to ensure that all customer requests are handled in a timely manner.
  • Report status of tickets and parts to management during weekly meetings.

Hours: 8hrs/day between 7AM and 5:30PM, Monday-Friday

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Able to pass thorough background check by US Department of Defense
  • At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing technical support role
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Technical background sufficient to quickly learn and understand electronic, mechanical, software, and computer systems.
  • This position requires access to ITAR restricted information (must be a US Person).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in a technical field or related experience
  • Direct experience with electronic troubleshooting (use of a multimeter, etc.).
  • Familiarity with networking principles (Network+ cert, etc.).
