Job Description

The Assurance Manager plays a critical role in the firm’s audit and assurance practice. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, service-minded professional who thrives in a people-focused environment, can handle multiple assurance engagements with confidence, and enjoys creating a confident, welcoming experience for both clients and staff. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned CPA who enjoys working directly with business owners, leading engagement teams, developing staff, and helping clients navigate complex accounting and financial reporting matters.

 

Client Service and Engagement Management

  • Manage multiple audit, review and compilation engagements from planning through issuance.
  • Serve as the primary client relationship manager for assigned engagements.
  • Develop audit strategies and engagement plans tailored to client risks.
  • Review financial statements and related disclosures for compliance with U.S. GAAP and other applicable reporting frameworks.
  • Ensure engagements are completed efficiently, accurately, and within budget.
  • Resolve complex accounting, auditing, and financial reporting issues.
  • Communicate engagement findings and recommendations to owners, executives, audit committees, and boards of directors.
  • Coordinate with tax and advisory professionals to deliver integrated client solutions.

Technical Leadership

  • Research complex accounting and auditing issues.
  • Interpret and apply GAAP, GAAS, SAS, SSARS, and other professional standards.
  • Review workpapers prepared by seniors and staff.
  • Maintain compliance with firm quality-control policies and peer-review standards.
  • Assist with implementation of new accounting and auditing standards.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor seniors and staff accountants.
  • Provide timely performance feedback and professional development guidance.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members.
  • Assist in scheduling staff and managing engagement workloads.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performance team environment.

Practice Development

  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and value-added consulting.
  • Assist with proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Represent the firm within the business and professional community.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active CPA license.
  • 5-7+ years of public accounting assurance experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing audit engagements and supervising professional staff.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience serving privately held businesses, partnerships, and corporations is preferred.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and audit software platforms.

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, standard business hours
  • On-site role in Fort Worth, TX

Compensation range

  • $160,000-$190,000 per year (based on experience), plus annual performance bonus
