An exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager on a full time, permanent basis. To Develop Industrial Lifting Equipment and generate solutions for Shipyards - Port Solutions.
Main Job Objectives:
- Understand the expectations of Port solutions as expressed in its Business Plans and implement actions to fulfil the requirements of the plans.
- Contribute to the development of Business Plans for the near and long term as required.
- Gain and maintain intelligence of the UK market with particular emphasis on the factors affecting Port Solutions.
- Gain and maintain specialist knowledge of the culture and methods prevailing in the market and identify the means by which Port Solutions might operate within existing conditions or influence those of the future.
- Develop the means by which business levels might be increased.
- Promote all Port Solutions products in Ireland.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Report business activities in accordance with current methods.
- Efficient scheduling of activities.
- Develop and pursue leads.
- Pricing of products and services in line with Company Policy.
- Maximisation of value addition to service orders via secondary selling e.g. sale of spare parts and components.
- Efficient response to enquiries and orders (internal and external) to maximise customer satisfaction.
- Liaison with relevant internal departments to maximise regional effectiveness and profitability.
General Responsibilities:
- Ensure Company policies and procedures are adhered to as defined in the Integrated Management Systems documentation and statutory requirements.
- Promote a positive and appropriate Company image.
- Implement good management practices.
- Identify any specific problem areas and report preventive actions.
- Attend regular review meetings with your Manager.
Requirements:
Education
- Certificate/Diploma in an appropriate engineering or business discipline.
Experience
- Technical and application knowledge of all relevant products.
- Substantial experience in the business development arena of B2B sales of capital and contractual goods and services.
- Skills
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- High attention to detail both verbal and written.
- IT skills (MS Office).
Business Travel
- Frequent, UK, Ireland and Europe. World Wide as and when required.
