Mō te tūranga | About the role

Meridian are looking for a part-time Document Specialist for a 6-month fixed Term contract based in our Twizel office, to support the transition of documentation as part of a large project. 

This role will ensure smooth continuation of work and will suit someone with a keen eye for detail and experience with editing, proofreading and validating documentation. This role will be part-time at 3 to 4 days per week.

Āu mahi | What you’ll be doing

  • Working with Project Stream Leads and end users to understand the purpose of existing controlled documents and assist them to identify necessary changes to documented processes and terminology.
  • Working with SMEs to coordinate audit of existing documents and develop a shared approach for drafting and implementing proposed changes.
  • Liaising with QA team and SCADA user SMEs to gain approval for proposed changes.
  • Tracking status of document reviews, changes and approvals, and follow up outstanding items to support the project schedule.
  • Applying Meridian’s controlled document policies and processes to coordinate document changes in alignment with QA, stakeholder and project requirements.

Ngā pukenga kei a koe mō tēnei tūranga | What you’ll bring

  • You’ll have previous experience in a similar role as a Technical Writer, proof reader, SharePoint Document Specialist or similar.
  • You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident engaging diverse stakeholders and proactively following up.
  • You’ll be detail-oriented with a structured and methodical approach to tasks.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced project setting.
  • Knowledge of document registers, approval workflows, and version control practices
  •  Previous experience with SharePoint would be highly desirable.
